The sunny autumn day set the perfect mood for FKU’s long-awaited 50th Anniversary celebration. Alums, current students, and families mingled and got acquainted. We got to hear a bit of history from Py Bateman, founder of the dojo, and from Aleeta Van Petten, our current head sensei. We applauded Senseis Jen, Joanne, Judy, Kim, and Tracey for their ongoing gift of time and energy teaching classes. Hopefully they all feel appreciated!
Big thanks to Sarah, Board Member and Social Coordinator, for making this event happen after all the pandemic-related delays and uncertainty.
Thank you to all who came out! Let’s not wait another fifty years to get together again.
